Now part of the Museum of Man in Balboa Park, San Diego, the California Tower was constructed for the 1915 Panama-California Exposition.
Like most of the architecture along El Prado in Balboa Park, this structure is visually captivating because of its hybrid of architectural styles and use of color and carvings to delight onlookers. The setting, among palm trees and along the entrance from the Cabrillo Bridge make this one of the most prominent features of the park, and a great visual memory cue for visitors to San Diego.
My goal has always been to capture moments that inspire me so that I can share them with others. I have been fortunate to have several selections of my work recognized in print and in competition. I am predominantly drawn to images of beautiful landscapes, glorious sunrises and sunsets, impressive cities, impressive architecture and feats of engineering, and awe-inspiring nature. I try to remain faithful to the moments I have experienced, with only 'natural' enhancements in post-processing, though you will also find monochromatic images here.
